Why is Dropbox more popular than other synchronisation tools?

On Quora, there are interesting awnswers as to why Dropbox is more popular than its competitors.

I think that another reason is because of its name. The word 'Dropbox' describes the functionality and no manual is required to explain what it does. Furthermore the Dropbox folder integrates well with default folders like 'Downloads' and 'Pictures' in the home directory.
